Now back to the Town Hall and revisiting that special night I had a blast answering so many of your questions… Coach Flo and Track & Field are seeking a sixth consecutive women's crown and third in a row for the men as our Horns seek to pull off the double-championship for a remarkable third straight year. And, there's more! Baseball, Softball and Men's and Women's Tennis are all in action right here in Austin, while Men's and Women's Basketball and Men's Golf will take their shows on the road this weekend as well. There's a whole lot to cheer for in the Burnt Orange and White, so let's get those Horns Up and Hook 'Em! Coach Capitani is a perfect 10-for-10 in Women's Swimming & Diving league championships during her tenure on the Forty Acres and going for 11-straight. Coach Reese, our wise, knowledgeable and seasoned visionary I affectionately call, "Yoda," has won all 26 Big 12 Championships and an unprecedented string of 43 conference crowns in-a-row on the Men's Swimming & Diving side. It sure was a magnificent Monday night visiting with y'all, and I want to personally thank everyone who joined us in our annual Town Hall! It's what we call our "stakeholders meeting" for Longhorn Nation, the best fans in the country, and we were able to share all of the excitement that's happening on the Forty Acres. I had a chance to touch on the great accomplishments of this past year, the ever-so-successful present, and a future that's so bright you'll need shades!īut, before we jump into the recap of the event in this special edition of the Forty Acres Insider - which will be going to more of a monthly or periodic format in the spring - here's to another sensational week that started with a terrific Tuesday night and convincing victories for our Baseball (12-2 over Texas A&M-CC) and Men's Basketball (72-54 over Iowa State) squads.īig 12 Championships will take place starting today as Swimming & Diving hosts the Big 12 Championships Wednesday-Saturday at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center, and Track & Field heads west to Lubbock to compete for the indoor titles on Friday and Saturday. Streaks will be on the line for our Longhorns as we prepare to Light that Tower Orange some more, my friends.
